A Global investment bank with a significant global reach and reputation is seeking a highly skilled Excel VBA RAD Developer to join their Exotics aligned RAD teams. These teams support the management and development of tactical applications for the trading desks using a RAD approach. The candidate should boast an analytical mind and a strong desire to understand the business and analytics in the area as you will be interfacing directly with the researchers on a daily basis.
Required skills: -An excellent Excel VBA programming background, -Experience working on large scale library development in a RAD environment, -SQL and Stored Procedures (Essential, Sybase preferable), -Solid understanding and proven track record in an object orientated language (C# preferable) developing enterprise scale applications, -Strong knowledge of market data systems and real-time capabilities (Reuters/Bloomberg).
Responsibilities: -Develop, implement and support tactical applications using RAD development techniques utilising Excel/VBA, C#, database and other relevant technologies, -Interact directly with front-office users on a daily basis understanding their needs and requirements. Ensure technology solutions meet requirements, are robust and supportable, -Knowledge of derivative instruments valuable; specifically pricing, risk, market data, and position keeping.
The Person: -The ability to identify and fix problems quickly in a fast paced, exciting environment. -Ability to act as a conduit between the business and developers, reasoning the practice behind the change in working practice. -Instant implementation of your work, with immediate and visible results and instant feedback.
Primarily, exceptional Excel VBA skills with experience in RAD environment and a self confident ambitious personality are most important to the client. This position provides a great opportunity to learn finance and requires a strong desire to work in a collaborative, fast paced, high pressure environment on a large existing codebase which is still growing.
